I'm Matteo Pizzi, a software engineer based in Rome. Fosforonero is the name I publish my projects under: applications, dashboards and tooling for web and mobile.
I'm Matteo Pizzi, a software developer with nearly a decade of experience across digital agencies, product teams and independent work. I design and build software end to end: architecture, interface, data, performance.
Fosforonero is the name I chose for this work. An independent practice where architecture, physics and product design meet, on my own terms.
The name comes from university, while I was studying for a chemistry exam. I got fascinated by black phosphorus: the most stable allotrope of phosphorus (P, Z=15, group 15, the nitrogen group), a direct-bandgap semiconductor with a puckered two-dimensional layered structure. Exfoliated down to a single atomic layer it becomes phosphorene, one of the most actively studied materials for the electronics of the next decade. A quiet, dense, stable material: built to last. It felt like the right name for the kind of software I try to build.
